College Football Hall of Fame coach Pat Dye picks the winners and losers of this weeks' SEC games and other contests of interest around the nation.

Editor’s Note: Coach Pat Dye was 4-2 with his SEC predictions in week seven. He missed on Kentucky’s upset of South Carolina and Florida’s home loss to Mississippi State. Outside the league the coach missed on Wisconsin’s victory over Ohio State, Washington’s 35-34 overtime win over Oregon State, Hawaii’s upset of previously unbeaten Nevada and Texas knocking off previously unbeaten Nebraska. For the season his overall record is 88-32 overall.

Georgia at Kentucky--I think Georgia has come to life. The Bulldogs are playing much better defensively than they were earlier this season and the offense is in gear. Look for Georgia to win on the road in Lexington even though Kentucky’s quarterback is having a terrific season.

Ole Miss at Arkansas--I like the Razorbacks to bounce back from their loss at Auburn and win this one at home.

Alabama at Tennessee--Alabama is too strong for the Vols. It is going to be a year or two before Tennessee catches up.

UAB at Mississippi State--If Cameron Newton had signed with the Bulldogs instead of Auburn, Mississippi State might be unbeaten.

South Carolina at Vanderbilt–The Gamecocks have just got more players and will win on the road.

LSU at Auburn--I like Auburn in this one. I am picking this game based on the history of the conference. You have to run and you have to be able to stop the run to be successful. Even though LSU is No. 1 in the conference in rush defense, Auburn is No. 3 and Auburn is about 80 yards ahead of anybody else in rushing offense. Playing at home and playing in the daytime is an advantage for Auburn.

CAmeron Newton

Auburn quarterback Cameron Newton leads the nation in touchdown responsibility with 25 through seven games this season.

In other games of interest around the country:

Michigan State at Northwestern--Michigan State stays unbeaten for another week.

Purdue at Ohio State--Ohio State will bounce back from its first loss and beat the Boilermakers.

Syracuse at West Virginia--Syracuse is making progress, but I like West Virginia at home in this one.

Penn State at Minnesota--Penn State should beat a struggling Minnesota team even though the Nittany Lions are on the road.

Jabaree Tuani sings Navy Blue and Gold after a hard-fought 28-21 win over SMU

Navy should test Notre Dame in the Meadowlands.

Notre Dame vs. Navy at East Rutherford, N.J.--Look for Navy to pull off the upset.

Wisconsin at Iowa--I like Iowa’s defense and will pick the Hawkeyes to win at home against a Wisconsin team coming off a big home win over Ohio State.

Nebraska at Oklahoma State--Oklahoma State will take its first loss of the season as Nebraska wins on the road.

Kansas State at Baylor--The Wildcats are the ranked team, but I am going with Baylor to find a a way to win at home.

Georgia Tech at Clemson--This could be a close game. I am going with Clemson at home.

Washington State at Stanford--Stanford has one of the top teams out West and will win again.

Andrew Luck and Chase Beeler run off the field after another touchdown.

Stanford features one of the nation's top players in quarterback Andrew Luck.

Oklahoma at Missouri--This game will have a big impact on the Big 12 race. I think Oklahoma is improving and will win on the road against an unbeaten Missouri team I am not sure about how good it is.

Washington at Arizona--The Wildcats have just one loss so look for them to defend their home field and improve to 6-1.
