Dyer scored a touchdown from 30 yards out in the third quarter of Auburn’s 51-31 SEC football victory on Saturday that improved the Tigers to 9-0 this season.

Dyer now has three 100-yard rushing games for the Tigers and has totaled 723 yards on 120 carries. He is averaging 6.0 yards per rushing play and has scored four touchdowns.

Commenting on his performance against Ole Miss, Dyer said, “The offensive line did a tremendous job of opening up holes and made it easy for me to read and use my speed and ability to go through tackles and break some.”

The running back from Little Rock, Ark., is ranked fourth in rushing among freshmen across the nation with his average of 80.3 yards per game. He is ranked third in rushing yardage for a freshman in Auburn history. Bo Jackson’s record of 829 yards was set in 1982. Travis Tidwell is No. 2 on the list with 772 yards in 1946.

Dyer shared his award with running back Marcus Lattimore of South Carolina and running back Trey Burton of Florida.

Against Ole Miss in Oxford, Washington returned five kickoffs for 176 yards to surpass the Auburn single-season record for kickoff return yardage. Tristan Davis had set the previous mark with 756 in 2006. Washington has 1,303 kickoff return yards, which is fourth on Auburn’s career list.

Washington shared his honor Florida punter and kicker Chas Henry. In addition to his returns, Washington made six tackles and intercepted a pass vs. Ole Miss.

Commenting on his kickoff return for a TD, Washington said, "It was set up to go up the middle and my teammates did a great job of blocking on the play and it opened up just like we planned," he said.

The Tigers return to action with a noon kickoff for their homecoming game this Saturday vs. Chattanooga.
