Banks Enjoys Auburn Visit
Mobile, Ala.--A linebacker that has continued to see his stock rise in recent months, 6-0, 220 Tre Banks from Williamson High took an unofficial visit to Auburn last weekend to check out coach Gene Chizik's program. A frequent visitor to the Plains, Banks brought his parents long for his most recent trip and said that made it a great trip. "It was a good visit," Banks said. "I had a chance to finally bring my parents up and let them see exactly what I'm talking about when I go visit. It's nice. I like it. It's a home away from home. Now they could actually experience it for themselves." Already very familiar with Auburn and the coaching staff, Banks said it was important for him to have his parents along so they could get a feel for not only the football program but life outside of football. "All of them were nice but I would say this one was better because I actually had a chance to interact with my folks and have them with me," Banks said of his Auburn visits. "I like how Auburn talks academics. That's good for my parents to see. They focus off the field just as much as on the field." A speedy linebacker that can make plays from sideline to sideline, Banks currently has one offer and is hearing from a number of other schools. While it's obvious Auburn is at or near the top for Banks at the moment he noted he's far from ready to make a decision and is just enjoying the process. "I like Auburn but at the same time I'm a junior and it's early," Banks said. "I'm not making a decision yet I'm just enjoying the experience. I'm hearing from LSU, Alabama, UAB and a few more schools. I have an offer from Kentucky. They are the only official offer I've got."
