"It was great," Kozan said. "I was down here with a couple of other offensive line recruits and I really got to see more of Auburn and the campus and everything. I got a good feel for the schools. Seeing bowl practice was great. Seeing everything about Auburn was awesome.
"I like a lot of things about Auburn," he added. "I like that it's in the SEC in a great conference. I like Coach (Jeff) Grimes. Coach Chizik is a great coach. I like Coach (Kevin) Yoxall. He's the best strength and conditioning coach in college football. There's a lot of great things about Auburn. It's a good education too."
In for Auburn's bowl practices as the Tigers prepare to face Virginia in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl, Kozan said it gave him the opportunity to watch Grimes in action on the field and he liked what he saw.
"It was good to see what kind of coach he is on the field and see what a great person he is and see where I fit in with the kind of offense they run and where I'd fit in the future."
Something else Kozan got to see was the lack of depth by the Tigers on the offensive line. Losing two senior tackles as well as Jared Cooper on the offensive line this year, Auburn needs immediate help up front. Kozan said that's something you have to pay attention to as a player and it's something that definitely gives Auburn an even better shot.
"It's definitely important," Kozan said. "You look at it and you only get four years and so you want to be playing. The NFL is not a guarantee for anybody so you want to look at that deeply and look at where you stand with that."
Looking at Iowa, Ohio State and Michigan in addition to Auburn with Oregon and LSU also in the picture, Kozan said he doesn't have a timetable for his decision but he would like to make his choice as soon as possible. As to which team that is only he knows at the moment.
"I've got a pretty good idea," Kozan said. "I'm starting to narrow it down pretty good now."
