Top-ranked Alabama and fifth-ranked LSU collide Saturday at Baton Rouge in what shapes up as the most important game on college football's schedule this weekend.
Other interesting SEC matchups find Ole Miss visiting Georgia,Texas A&M traveling to Mississippi State and Vanderbilt invading Kentucky.
InsideTennessee's Josh Woodward and Randy Moore went 6-1 each on last week's SEC Picks, while Danny Parker and Chris Price went 5-2 each. Parker continues to carry the best season's record at 66-10. Below are the staff picks for this week, with year-to-date won/loss records in parenthesis:
DANNY PARKER (66-10)
Alabama at LSU: Can anybody slow down the machine that is the Crimson Tide? Not so sure. Alabama, 20-10.
Tulsa at Arkansas: This one figures to be closer than the average fan thinks it will be. Arkansas, 54-49.
New Mexico State at Auburn: Maybe the Tigers should try Corey Lemonier in its own version of the Beast package. Auburn, 38-33.
Missouri at Florida: Just when you think the schedule is bound to lighten up, POW! Good luck, Tigers. Florida, 41-9.
Ole Miss at Georgia: The Bulldogs are primed for a letdown following their biggest win in years but not that big of a letdown. Georgia, 30-17.
Vanderbilt at Kentucky: Commonwealth has hosted some eye-opening scores, but the Commodores enter with a lot of momentum. Vanderbilt, 21-17.
Texas A&M at Miss. State: The Bulldogs follow up loss No. 1 with loss No. 2. The Aggies are too multi-dimensional on offense for State. Texas A&M, 35-28.
Troy at Tennessee: So, this is what it's like to see a team on the schedule not in the BCS standings. Tennessee, 38-27.
JOSH WOODWARD (62-14)
Alabama at LSU: This is becoming the must-see game of the year, LSU isn't playing all that well, but has the athletes to hang with Alabama. It is just hard to pick against Alabama with the way they play the game. 24-17 Tide
Tulsa at Arkansas: Arkansas is having a horrible year, but I can't pick Tulsa. 35-20 Hogs
New Mexico State at Auburn: Not sure if Auburn has a pulse at this point, but they don't need much of one to beat New Mexico State. 28-17 Tigers
Missouri at Florida: Florida is coming off a big loss against Georgia, so this could be close. 38-34 Gators
Ole Miss at Georgia: Ole Miss is the only team to hang with Alabama this year, they are well coached and will be fired up for the Bulldogs. 31-24 Georgia
Vanderbilt at Kentucky: I really don't have anything to say on this one. 24-17 Vanderbilt
Texas A&M at Miss. State: The second best match up in the SEC this weekend. Likely will come down to who can run the ball. I'm going with Texas A&M with the win. 34-31 Aggies
Troy at Tennessee: Well this is the kind of games that gets a coach fired, Tennessee needs to win or Derek Dooley is gone. I believe Tennessee will win. 42-28 Vols
RANDY MOORE (62-14)
Alabama at LSU: If the Tigers had a decent quarterback I'd go with the home team. But they don't and I won't. Bama, 17-10
Tulsa at Arkansas: Tulsa can put up a lot of points but the home crowd should carry the Razorbacks to a high-scoring victory. Hogs, 38-31
New Mexico State at Auburn: Former Auburn coach Pat Dye said two weeks ago that the Tigers wouldn't win another game this season. He apparently overlooked this one. Auburn, 31-21
Missouri at Florida: The Gators will be in an ornery mood after having their national championship hopes dashed by Georgia last week. Florida, 31-14
Ole Miss at Georgia: The Dawgs have to be in for a letdown after upsetting Florida but the home-field advantage will pull them through. Georgia, 38-34
Vanderbilt at Kentucky: Which Big Blue team shows up ... the bad one or the worse one? Commodores, 27-24
Texas A&M at Miss. State: On the heels of a 7-0 start, Dan Mullen's reality check continues. Aggies, 28-20
Troy at Tennessee: First team to force a three-and-out wins. Vols, 41-31
CHRIS PRICE (61-15)
Alabama at LSU: LSU is a good football team, but Alabama is a great football team. Some people, especially Tennessee fans, may have Alabama fatigue, but I love watching them. No one is college football compares. Bama 30-17.
Tulsa at Arkansas: I think even Arkansas can get this one. However, it might be great fun to here John L.'s comments if they did lose. Hogs 45-17.
New Mexico State at Auburn: Auburn is bad, but not that bad. I think they can knock off this team. Tigers 34-17.
Missouri at Florida: Florida is a different team than they were in Week 3 when Tennessee played them. Missouri won't be able to make a t-shirt for this one. Gators 38-10.
Ole Miss at Georgia: I think Georgia can get this one, but it is going to be close. Ole Miss is a solid offensive team. They will keep it close. Dawgs 31-24.
Vanderbilt at Kentucky: This is a fun one. Especially because it is at Kentucky. The Wildcats are funny, sometimes they show up, sometimes they don't. I am behind. I think they show up. Cats 24-17.
Texas A&M at Miss. State: This is probably the premier game of the week. Yes, Alabama and LSU are playing, but this game is a much better matchup in my opinion. I am going with Johnny Football. A&M 38-20.
Troy at Tennessee: Tennessee gets back on track this week, but there is going to be a lot of points in this one. Tennessee 48-30.
