We continue our previews of the AHSAA Super Six at Jordan-Hare Stadium with a look at Friday's games.

Friday’s games scheduled for Jordan-Hare Stadium will crown the state champions in Class 4A, 2A and 6A. Here are previews of each game:

Class 4A

UMS-Wright (12-2) vs. Oneonta (14-0), 11 a.m.

Averaging 36.4 points per game this season, UMS-Wright is looking for its sixth state title and first since 2008 when the Bulldogs take on Oneonta on Friday at 11 a.m. in the first game at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Junior quarterback Gunner Roach is one to watch for UMS-Wright as the 6-1, 190-pounder has a strong arm and the ability to make plays with his legs. Sophomore Troy Dixon has 1,958 yards rushing for the Bulldogs this season and is a powerful back that is averaging 20 carries a game this season.

Oneonta counters with one of the state’s most explosive offensive attacks led by Cody O’Toole’s 43 combined touchdowns this season. Outside receiver Alvin Scott topped the 1,000 yard mark for the third consecutive season and combined with talented junior Jalen Johnson for more than 2,000 receiving yards and 30 touchdowns.

On defense 6-3, 240 Blake Bean controls the line of scrimmage with Johnson doing double-duty with his 6-3 frame at cornerback. Averaging 46.5 points per game, the Indians have only been held under 40 points one time since week two of the season.

Class 2A

Washington County (13-1) vs. Tanner (13-0), 3 p.m.

Following a very successful regular season, Washington County avenged its only loss of the season last week by knocking off powerhouse Sweet Water 41-33 on the road in the semi-finals. Averaging 33.4 points per game for the season, the Bulldogs are led by talented running back T.J. Kidd. Last week he had 337 yards and touchdown runs of 38, 59 and 54 yards against Sweet Water on just 16 carries.

Along with Brantley perhaps the most dominant team left standing in the playoffs, the Rattlers are averaging 46.5 points and allowing just 6.6 points per game this season. A physical team on both sides of the ball, Tanner has allowed more than 10 points just four times this season.

Offensively, junior running back Hayden Stephens and senior Fred Rich have combined for over 3,000 yards rushing for a team that has gained 4,049 yards and scored 63 total touchdowns on the ground.

Class 6A

Opelika (10-4) vs. Hoover (14-0), 7 p.m

One of the hottest teams in the state entering the Super Six, Opelika has avenged two regular season losses the last two weeks in wins over Auburn (8-7) and Carver-Montgomery (35-21) and will go for another Friday night against Hoover.

Falling 30-7 to the Bucs in week 10 of the regular season, the Bulldogs have come out swinging in the playoffs behind the running of senior tailback Calvin Bryant and a load of talented juniors. Big Jakell Mitchell plays running back, tight end and linebacker for the Bulldogs and will be one of the top 2014 prospects in Alabama next year. The same is true of junior cornerback Stephen Roberts. At 6-0, 180, Roberts has the ability to shut down his side of the field on defense.

Connor Short

Hoover's Connor Short will be a key for the Bucs.

Opelika isn’t the only team with talented underclassmen as Hoover junior defensive back Marlon Humphrey is one of the top 2014 prospects in the country at cornerback. Joining him on a defense allowing just 9.7 points per game are a pair of outstanding sophomores in Christian Bell (6-4, 205) at defensive end and Darrell Williams (6-3, 200) at linebacker. The duo are physical and fast for the Bucs.

Offensively, Auburn baseball signee Connor Short leads a Hoover offense that averages 36.6 points per game. Hoover is playing in its 15th state title game and is looking for its eighth championship overall. This will be Opelika’s first trip to the finals.
