Bradley Meets Coach Monken

Bradley Meets Coach Monken

Noxubee County defensive lineman Dylan Bradley had a visit from the new Eagle head man. He took a few minutes today to talk with about that meeting and his impressions going forward.

Dylan Bradley committed to Southern Miss shortly after the Mississippi/ Alabama all-star game. He had an instant connection with the new coaching staff, and after meeting Coach Monken and Coach Buckley in person, he is even more certain about his decision.

"They came to visit me Friday morning, it was Coach Monken and Coach Buckley," he told today.

"It went great we talked a lot about what they expect out of me, and they talked about how they plan on using me at Southern Miss. They also met my parents and talked with them about what life will be like at the next level."

They certainly see Bradley coming in and competing for a spot immediately.

"They said I can play as a hybrid type of a player, as one who can come after the quarterback and also drop back into coverage," he said. "They said they really like my quickness and speed from what they have seen, and expect me to fit in well with the new defensive scheme that will be coming in."

He also had nothing but high praise for Coach Monken.

"I knew when I talked on the phone with him that he was a guy who was a straight shooter and I really like that," he said. "He is honest and up front with you. He is intense but also really cares about his players. He told my parents that he'd treat me like he'd treat his son, and that I would be one of his sons while there. He really knew all about me and I can tell he cares about me as a person."

Bradley said he plans on continuing to work out with his team over the next few months as he prepares for his time at Southern Miss. He also will take an official visit later in the month, likely on the weekend of the 25th. Recommended Stories
