South Carolina wide receiver and punt returner Ace Sanders will return for his senior year in 2013.
Ace Sanders Turning Pro
Sanders took to Twitter Tuesday to confirm his plans to forego his senior year and enter the NFL draft.
"Day full of emotion. Thank you everyone apart of #GamecockNation. I appreciate everything you did for me. #TearsOfJoy. I love you guys."
Last week it appeared as if Sanders would be returning to the team for his senior year after posting an image to Instagram with the text, "1 More Year!"
Sanders finished the 2012 season with 45 passes for 53-yards and nine touchdowns.
He made some of his biggest plays as a punt returner, returning 28 punts for 429-yards and two touchdowns.
South Carolina wide receivers coach Steve Spurrier Jr. posted this message to his Twitter account on Tuesday, after Sanders' made his announcement:
"Record 74 and counting underclassman attempting to join the ranks of the NFL. Time will tell if they have chosen wisely."
Sanders has until January 18th to withdraw his name from the draft.
