COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The
Texas A&M
men's basketball team hits the road for the third time in four games this week when it faces
Mississippi State
on Wednesday at Humphrey Coliseum in Starkville, Miss. Tip-off for the Southeastern Conference match-up is slated for 8 p.m. (CT). Wednesday's contest will be televised by CSS with Mike Morgan and Daymeon Fishback calling all the action.
Texas A&M (12-7, 2-4 SEC) enters the game looking to snap a four-game skid that followed a 2-0 start to conference play. Most recently the Aggies mounted an inspired comeback attempt before falling to
Georgia
59-52 on Saturday at Reed Arena. Against Georgia, senior guard
Elston Turner
scored a team-leading 19 points on 5-of-14 shooting from the floor to mark the 22nd time during his two seasons at A&M that he has led the Aggies in scoring. Additionally, Turner cracked the double-digit barrier in points for the 40th time in 51 career games at Texas A&M.
Junior guard
Fabyon Harris
also enjoyed a solid night offensively, notching 13 points to reach double-digits for the seventh time in his last 10 contests.
Mississippi State brings its own four-game losing streak into the contest Wednesday following an 82-47 loss to
Florida
in Starkville during its most recent outing. The Bulldogs feature a balanced scoring attack that includes seven players who average seven or more points per contest. Freshman guard
Fred Thomas
highlights the group with an 11.1 point-per-game average and is coming off a game-high, 19-point performance against the Gators on Saturday.
MSU is led by first-year head coach Rick Ray, who spent the previous two seasons as an assistant at
Clemson
before being hired to lead the Bulldog men's basketball program during the offseason.
