Edward Paris, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound cornerback from Mansield (Texas) Timberview High has made his college intentions public on Monday night when he committed to LSU via Twitter.

Throughout the recruiting process he racked up more than 40 offers from coast-to-coast, making the decision a tough one, but LSU has been the favorite since the five-star's early stages.

"First I'd like to sincerely thank all the coaches, fans and everyone throughout the country who has supported me through this process," Paris began as he explained his decision to a national social media audience.

"It has been a long and hard decision to make as the schools I visited showed me much love and support as it relates to me growing personally."

As a junior, Paris racked up 37 tackles, seven interceptions (two returned for touchdowns), broke up 12 passes, forced three fumbles and recovered three fumbles to earn Scout.com All-Midlands, First Team All-District and First Team All-State honors.

Paris, who has expressed in an interest in studying Engineering in college, will not have a problem moving away from Texas and playing his college ball in Louisiana.

"I don't mind moving at all," Paris informed Scout.com.

He will be bringing a high level of phsyicality and confidence to the Tigers' defense.

"It's my speed," Paris began when asked what sets him apart as an elite level defender. "I am very, very, very physical off the line. They are not getting off the line basically, and every ball that is thrown my way is getting intercepted."

Paris is currently rated as a four-star prospect by Scout.com, the No. 4 cornerback nationally.
