It took another trade with Green Bay, the team's second of the day, to take their third defensive player in four picks.
Lemonier was a top recruit coming out of high school for Auburn and was considered far more talented than his draft selection.
At 6-3 and 255 pounds, Lemonier was a three-year player for Auburn, amassing 98 total tackles and 17 sacks. His best season came as a sophomore in 2011 when he made 9.5 sacks and five forced fumbles. He earned first-team all-conference honors that year.
Lemonier spent the majority of his time with his hand in the ground in college, but will likely become an outside linebacker in the 49ers' 3-4 defense. The team already added former Florida State defensive end Cornellius "Tank" Carradine in the second round Friday. Although Carradine will likely join the rotation to the inside of the line.
