Four-star defender Jordan Colbert made his college choice on Saturday picking the Auburn Tigers…
Colbert To Announce Decision On Saturday
Griffin, Ga.--Four-star defensive prospect Jordan Colbert has always planned to make his commitment at the Under Armour All-American Game in January, but now he's had a change of heart. Making several visits to many of of his favorite schools, Colbert said it's down to three finalist as he prepares to announce his decision on Saturday. "My final three are Florida State, Georgia and Auburn," Colbert said. "If I would have had a top five I would add Tennessee and Clemson in there." A frequent visitor to the Plains this spring, Colbert is definitely intrigued by what the Tigers are doing on defense under coordinator Ellis Johnson. Capable of playing three different spots in Auburn's defense, he said that's one of the things he likes about Gus Malzahn's program at the moment, but that's not all. "I could talk for days about Auburn," Colbert said. "Auburn is more of a family atmosphere for me instead of a business atmosphere that is just recruiting me. Auburn steps out for me because they're more for my family and I like that." At 6-3, 200, Colbert is a player that can fit into any type of defense. That's the case with both Georgia and Florida State as well. He said both have plenty of positives including one being his dream school. "I grew up a fan of the Georgia Bulldogs," he said. "That's the place I grew up dreaming about playing. "I haven't been able to visit Florida State yet," Colbert added. "But they won the national championship so they've got to be a contender." On his visit to Auburn early in April, Colbert said he wanted to wait to make his decision but the time is right for him to end things so he can focus on his final year of high school. "If I go ahead and get it out of the way now then I can just focus on my school work and my books," Colbert said. "I don't want to have to wait until later down the line and be in a bad spot and not be able to do what I want to do."
