"It has been a good move for me," Thomas said. "I like it. There is good competition with the new Class 7A. I like the guys. It's a pretty good group. We're going to try and get a ring this year.
"I have improved everywhere really," he added. "In the weight room I am getting stronger. Out on the field I am moving better and getting faster. Every day we're working."
Currently with offers from Louisville, Memphis, Mississippi State, Minnesota, UAB, South Alabama, Virginia Tech and several others, Thomas said it has been exciting to see things start to come together for him on the recruiting trail.
"It's really exciting because it started off really slow," Thomas said. "It just picked up out of nowhere when I made the move. It felt really good to get a lot more attention than where I was."
With plenty of options already, Thomas said that he's still keeping an open mind in the recruiting process at the moment in the hopes that more schools come on board. It's not a surprise that a kid growing up in Alabama has two particular offers in mind he's looking for.
"I would like to hear from Auburn or Alabama," Thomas said. "That would be big. I grew up an Alabama fan but then over time I grew up liking Auburn. One of my role models is Greg Robinson. I'm trying to get up there with him."
