For his outstanding work against the Georgia Bulldogs Saturday afternoon when he accounted for 238 all purpose yards and carried the ball a school-record 41 times, Williams has been named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week for this past weekend's action.
On the season the Etowah High School graduate is has rushed for 575 yards on 115 carries with a team-high 6 touchdowns. In his last two outings he has rushed for 344 yards while earning the most extensive playing time of his young career to date.
Duval has been honored for his season's work by being named one of the three finalists along with Purdue's Travis Dorsch and Tulane's Seth Marler for the prestigious Lou Groza Award, presented annually to the nation't top place-kicker.
Currently sixth nationally in field goals per game at 1.78 and fourth nationally in field goals made with 16, the junior from Chattanooga is 16-24 on the season and kicked game-winners against Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, and then top-ranked Florida.
The award will be presented at a ceremony on December 4 at the Sheraton West Palm Beach Hotel. The winner will also be recognized on the ESPN Home Depot College Football Awards Show on Thursday, December 6.
