Amonite Powers Tigers To Victory Over Mercer
Auburn, Ala.–-Karl Amonite had three hits and a sacrifice fly that scored the eventual winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Auburn Tigers defeated the Mercer Bears 6-5 Tuesday night at Plainsman Park to run their record to 5-2 on the young season. Amonite hit his fourth home run of the season and also doubled on a night that saw the Tigers climb out of a four-run hole to earn the win. "We came out in the first and make an error," Slater said. "We don't locate a couple of pitches and they put up a four spot. What I was very proud of was Mullins (Cliff Mullins) settling down after that and giving us three solid innings behind that.
