Tuberville, who was named 2004 National Coach of the Year by The American Football Coaches Association, was selected to coach the 60th annual Hula bowl by that same organization, which sponsors the game.
Earlier this year, Auburn defensive end Bret Eddins played in the Hula Bowl along with safety Junior Rosegreen. Eddins is now with the NFL's New York Giants and Rosegreen is with the Seattle Seahawks.
Tuberville will coach the East all-stars while Tyrone Willingham of Washington will head the West. Tuberville's East assistants will be Scot Dapp of Moravian, who is the 2005 AFCA President and East Carolina's Skip Holtz. San Jose State's Dick Tomey will assist Willingham.
The AFCA's 2005 Division I-AA, Division II and Division III National Coach of the Year award winners will receive in the final three spots on the staffs of the two all-star teams for the game played at War Memorial Stadium.
Tuberville won a variety of SEC and national coach of the year honors after leading the Tigers to a 13-0 record. AU takes a 15-game winning streak into its Sept. 3rd season opener vs. Georgia Tech.
