Barrett, who will be a junior for Coach Jeff Lebo’s Tigers for the 2007-2008 season, hit 9-14 field goals vs. the team from the Chinese Basketball Association. He added five rebounds, three assists and three steals and was 4-4 on free throws.
His Auburn teammate, senior-to-be forward Quan Prowell, just missed a double-double. Prowell scored 16 points for the Americans and added nine rebounds. Prowell hit 7-12 field goals and was 2-2 at the foul line.
Reach USA rallied from a 12-point deficit in the third quarter to pull out the victory. Auburn assistant coach Bryan Bartley coached the final five games for Reach USA while Texas Pan-American head coach Tom Schuberth was in charge of the first three.
Prowell averaged 15.5 points and 7.4 rebounds for Reach USA posted a 6-2 record on the tour. Barrett averaged 12.4 points and 4.6 rebounds.
