The Tigers, who are 7-4, have their first open date of the season this week. Alabama, which is 6-4, will play Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday in Tuscaloosa. Auburn won last year’s game vs. the Tide 22-15 in Tuscaloosa. It was the fifth straight victory for the Tigers in the series, matching AU’s longest winning streak vs. the Tide that was set from 1954-58.
Quentin Groves sacks Tide quarterback John Parker Wilson in last season's Iron Bowl Auburn victory in Tuscaloosa. This year's game will be played at Auburn's Jordan-Hare Stadium. Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville has posted a 6-2 mark vs. Bama since taking over as head coach of the Tigers. Tide coach Nick Saban will be making his first appearance coaching against AU since taking over at Alabama. In five previous games vs. Auburn as head coach at LSU, Saban won two of the matchups vs. the Tigers.
