Savage Set To Choose Between Two

Jomarcus Savage talks recruiting and gives the positives for both Auburn and Tennessee.

Huntsville, Ala.--It's nearing the end of the line for J.O. Johnson standout Jomarcus Savage. After months of intensive recruiting from many of the top schools in the country he says it's down to just two teams with a decision coming on Wednesday morning at his school at a press conference scheduled for 10:30.

"Right about now it's just Auburn and Tennessee," the 6-3, 265 Savage tells Inside The Auburn Tigers. "I can't really give you a percentage right now on which one is which. I still stand on me making my announcement this Wednesday."

Choosing between two schools with so many positives has been tough for Savage. He says both programs and universities have plenty of positives and makes for a tough choice for him to make.

"They have a great staff," Savage says of his reasons for liking Auburn. "All the players are just like a big family. It's just a very football-oriented atmosphere and state. Tennessee, it's just crazy up there. The facilities are top notch. The coaches are great. It's a big city so there is never a dull moment. It's just great."

The decision is made even tougher because of the fact the coach recruiting him to Tennessee coached his father in college. While that may play into things, he says both schools have plenty of offer.

"It has been very tough," Savage says. "On one hand I can make history by going to Tennessee. Coach (John) Chavis has never coached a father and son. Besides that I know he'll take care of me. I wouldn't have to worry about him just recruiting me and me getting there and never seeing the light of day. On the other hand Auburn is just a good school. Hands down just a good school."

With so many factors to weigh between the two schools, Savage says it has been a tough road to this point, but now he feels like he's got everything available to make the right decision for himself and his family. After hosting Tennessee Coach Phil Fulmer in his house two weeks ago and Auburn's Tommy Tuberville last week, Savage says he's finally reached a decision and we'll have to wait until Wednesday to find out what the deciding factors were.

"I really couldn't tell you right now because I kind of already have my mind made up," Savage says. "I just want to save that until Wednesday."
