Comments from Auburn's athletic director are featured on his meetings with Coach Tommy Tuberville.

Auburn, Ala.--Auburn athletic director Jay Jacobs said on Tuesday night that he will continue to discuss the football program with head coach Tommy Tuberville this week.

The two men met for several hours on Tuesday morning in Tuberville's office.

"We will meet again over the next couple of days and we will let you know how it goes," Jacobs said. "That is really it. We will let you know how it goes."

Jacobs said he hopes to wrap up the meetings this week as he and Tuberville discuss the program and Tuberville's role in it after the coach finished up his 10th season at Auburn with a 5-7 record.

Asked if he thinks the meetings will be concluded this week, Jacobs said, "We will just have to see."

Asked if he was concerned about the air of uncertainty having the potential to damage the program, Jacobs responded by indicating he didn't think that would be the case. The athletic director, who was leaving the football complex, did not take any more questions.

Tuberville had planned to be on the road recruiting this week, but has been in Auburn for a meeting with university president Dr. Jay Gogue on Monday along with Jacobs. The talks with Jacobs continued on Tuesday and are expected to resume on Wednesday.

Tuberville's 10-year record at Auburn is 85-40 including a perfect 13-0 mark in 2004.

Auburn's assistant coaches are on the road recruiting during the contact period that lasts until a holiday break on Dec. 21st.
