Birmingham, Ala.--With back-to-back 29-point scoring games to open conference play, Auburn senior DeWanna Bonner has been named the SEC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

Auburn improved to 17-0 with wins at South Carolina on Thursday and at home vs. 19th-ranked Florida on Sunday. That helped the team move up three spots in the new AP Top 25 poll to sixth.

It is the second time this season that the senior from Fairfield High School has won the SEC Player of the Week honor.

She added 11 rebounds to go with her 29 points in the 81-65 victory over Florida and grabbed six rebounds in the 80-76 win vs. South Carolina. Against Florida, Bonner posted her fifth double-double of the season and the 36th of her Auburn career.

In her last two games Bonner made 19-33 field goals and 19-24 free throws while adding three steals and three assists.

The Tigers will play just one game this week as they travel to Arkansas for a 2 p.m. CST game on Sunday.
