Cornerback Says Visit Puts Auburn At Top Of List

Tiger Ticket

This Sunshine State defender talks about his visit to Auburn over the weekend.

Bradenton, Fla.--After taking his first official visit this past weekend to Auburn, cornerback Mike Jenkins from Southeast High says that the Tigers are currently the leaders for his services.

"They would have to be first right now because I haven't taken any of my other visits," Jenkins tells Inside The Auburn Tigers.

Hosted by sophomore Carlos Rogers on his visit, Jenkins says the two got along great and spent most of their time with fellow recruits Patrick Lee and Courtney Denson. With all having Florida ties, Jenkins says they had plenty to talk about and compare on the visit.

"The visit was good," Jenkins says. "It was tight. They showed me around the campus. The coaches were nice and the players were all good to me. I really liked it."

One thing Jenkins says made the visit especially good was sitting down with the players and coaches and talking football. The coach that stood out the most to him was Defensive Coordinator Gene Chizik.

"He was very down to earth," Jenkins notes of Chizik. "I liked his attitude a lot."

Jenkins has visits remaining at Nebraska this coming weekend, Clemson on Jan. 24 and South Florida on Jan. 31. He says he will take all his visits before making a decision.
