This in-state defender talks about his interest in the Auburn football Tigers.

Birmingham, Ala.--One of the top athletes in Alabama took his official visit to the Plains over the weekend and came away impressed by what he saw out of the program. Defensive end Lloyd Blevins from Wenonah High is considered one of the top defensive prospects in the state and says that he's now ready to make a decision on his college choice.

"That was my last visit," Blevins tells Inside The Auburn Tigers. "I'm not looking at anyone else."

Hosted by fellow Birmingham defender Mayo Sowell, Blevins says he got a chance to meet several players and hang out with them on his visit. After going to dinner Friday night with Sowell and several others to Compton Cattle Company in Auburn, Blevins says the group hung out for the remainder of the weekend when not touring the campus or talking with coaches.

"The visit was alright," Blevins says. "I met some nice people. I got to pick up some of the information on my major, which is business. I talked to the man over the business department and he was pretty nice. They told me about my classes and I got to see where I would be. I got to meet most of the football team.

"We hung out with Jason Campbell, Karlos Dansby, Carnell Williams and Reggie Torbor," Blevins notes. "I had a good time meeting those guys."

Like many of the players who have visited in recent weeks, Blevins says there is no doubt what his favorite part of the weekend was. After visiting the recruiting lounge and locker room areas, the 6-4, 220 end says they had a surprise for the players.

"Going to the stadium was fun," Blevins says. "They had us in the back and had some jerseys for us with our names on them. They let us try them on and take pictures and all that."

A superb pass rusher with the speed to track opponents down from sideline to sideline, Blevins had over 200 tackles and 20 sacks in his career as a three-year starter. He will choose between Auburn, South Carolina, Southern Miss, UAB and several other schools.
