No. 1 Rated Running Back Visiting Tigers

The nation's top ranked running back Marcus Lattimore is scheduled to visit Auburn officially this weekend along with a large group of unofficial visitors.

Auburn, Ala.--This weekend the Auburn Tigers take on the Ole Miss Rebels and expected to take in the action is a large group of talented prospects led by the nation's top-ranked running back Marcus Lattimore from Byrnes (S.C.) High School.

Coming in for an official visit, Lattimore is having another big year for one of the top high school footballl teams in the nation. Currently 7-1 on the year with the only loss coming at St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.), the Rebels have outscored their opponents 430-99 in eight games. Because of that it has meant less work for Lattimore, but he has still managed to rush for 907 yards on just 125 carries with 14 touchdowns. He's also added 29 receptions for 351 yards and three scores.

Lattimore took an unofficial visit to Auburn over the summer and since that time the Tigers have been high on his list of college favorites along with home state South Carolina, Penn State, Oregon, Georgia, North Carolina and Florida State. Lattimore has scheduled a visit to Penn State on Nov. 7 when the Nittany Lions take on Ohio State. He's also scheduled to visit Oregon on in January. He's not expected to make a decision until close to signing day.

Expected to be the only official visitor this weekend at Auburn, Lattimore will be far from alone as a large group of unofficial visitors are expected in for the early start on Saturday. Commitments D.J. Howard, Demetruce McNeal and Chad Slade are expected in as well as top seniors such as wide receiver Rodney Davis and Arsenio Favor from Stanhope Elmore, Branton Hall from Lincoln, Dimitri Orr from Oxford, Rodney Thomas from Auburn, JaMichael Taylor from Wetumpka, and defensive end Adrian Hubbard from Norcross, Ga.

There are also some talented underclassmen expected in as well. Speedy junior Enrique Florence from Valley, junior offensive lineman Spencer Region from Cullman, sophomore defensive lineman Justin Shanks from Prattville, junior quarterback C.J. Uzomah from North Gwinnett High in Suwanee, Ga., offensive lineman Travis Bodenstein from Shiloh Christian High in Springdale, Ark., and junior linebacker Desmond Wills from Lincoln.
