One of the colleges he is hoping to receive an offer from is Auburn where he visited on Friday.
"I like their offense," he tells Inside the Auburn Tigers. "Coach Malzahn (offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn) showed me what they do and I like it a lot."
A prospect being recruited as a tight end and a defensive end by colleges, Dupree says, "I prefer offense because I enjoy catching the football."
Playing for Wilkinson County High School, he is a standout in football and basketball.
"As a junior I won the football team's award as the top defensive end and the award as the top player on offense,"?he says. "We had a good team. We went to the first round of the playoffs.
"In basketball we always have a strong team,"?he says. "I averaged 12 points per game as a starter at forward."
Dupree says his recruiting attention is coming in football where Georgia Tech was the first to offer a scholarship. "Hopefully, I will get one from Georgia soon. Auburn talked to me about a possible offer. They told me when I talk to the head coach (Gene Chizik) he will probably offer me then."
The rising senior says that he doesn't have a single favorite college, but he does have a top five list that features Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Tennessee and Kentucky. "I am going to visit Georgia on Thursday," he says.
Dupree says he spent time on Friday in Auburn with Jay Boulware, Auburn's tight ends coach, and says that Boulware told him that the AU staff believes he has the size, speed and hands to play tight end in Auburn's offense. "I think I could fit in real well with what they are doing," he notes.
"I would say my quickness, my strength and playing smart on the field are what I do best as a football player," Dupree says. "I am working on improving my speed. I want to get it down to 4.6 (in the 40-yard dash). Right now it is between 4.7 and 4.8."
The prospect says that colleges are recruiting him as both a tight end and defensive end.
His latest visit was his third this year to Auburn. He was on campus for a junior day and also watched Auburn's spring football game. "I will be back in July for an Auburn football camp,"?says Dupree, who notes that he likes the Auburn coaches and the AU campus.
