| An undersized defensive end, or a jumbo outside linebacker, Ford has a tremendous amount of natural athleticism. He is quick off the ball and plays every down full speed. His effort gets him to a lot of backside tackles, and he's a special teams demon as well, blocking two kicks in the game I watched. Ford completed his senior season with 90 total tackles, 40 solo, 18 sacks and one interception. He was selected 4A First Team ASWA All-State, Birmingham News All-State Second Team (All Classes).
Ford, who was a standout at an Auburn University two-day summer football camp prior to his senior year, had 13 sacks as a junior. He is a three-sport letterman who is scheduled to start for a third straight year in football for the Saints.
Selected 2008 Star of Alabama for his game against Hokes Bluff, 12 tackles and five sacks for a loss of 40 yards. He also had an interception.
2007 Stats: 87 total tackles with 36 solo, 16 tackles for a loss and 12 sacks. |
