Auburn, Ala.—Auburn sophomore center Reese Dismukes is one of the nine Southeastern Conference centers named to the 2012 Spring Watch List for the Rimington Trophy that honors the top college football center in the nation.

A High School All-American and an early graduate from Spanish Fort High last year, Dismukes went through spring practice in 2011 for the Tigers and parlayed that into a starting role last season as a true freshman. He said now that he's seen what life is like in the brutal SEC that he feels more prepared to handle it this season.

"Having gone through a whole year I know the scheme of things and how people play," Dismukes said. "When I see something on defense I know what's coming. I feel a lot better and I'm moving a whole lot better. I'm just a lot more confident in myself."

Starting every game for Auburn at one of the more difficult positions to play on the field for a young player, Dismukes came into his own late in the season for the Tigers and finished with a very good performance against Virginia in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl victory.

A Freshman All-American by the Football Writers Association of American and also CBS Sports as well as earning All-Freshman honors in the SEC, Dismukes helped Auburn rush for 2,370 yards last season, good enough for fourth in the conference. Auburn topped the 200-yard mark in rushing seven times in 2011.
