2016 S intrigued by UT

Safety Deontay Anderson

Texas head coach Charlie Strong has his staff working the recruiting trail overtime as we head into the summer camps. Not only is it starting to pay off with the 2015 class, but the 2016 recruits too.

Manvel (TX) standout safety Deontay Anderson checks in at 6-foot, 190-pounds and holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Houston, Mississippi, Texas and UCLA to name a few.

"Texas is amazing," Anderson said. "You can tell coach Strong has order. I haven't met him yet but the way my parents talk about him is great news, especially my mom."

Manvel is loaded with talent in the 2016 class with players such as Anderson, Jordan Carmouche and Reggie Hemphill. Expect Texas to keep an eye on all of them.

"I just started conversations with them but from the first time I talked to them it went very well, just being real with me," Anderson said.

Anderson is an imposing defensive back that is only going to get bigger, stronger and faster. He understands how fortunate he is with some of the biggest names in college football offering him scholarships.

"My game is a blessing from God," Anderson said. "I know I need to just master the fundamentals more not only for my self but for my team. I am a smart, fast player and when it's time to shine you will see me. Physical aggression but basically continue to grow."
