Hard work is what 2015 Darlington wide receiver Tra'Quan Dubose knows it will take to not only make it to the next level but to succeed there. With a pair of in-state offers Dubose is off to a nice start but he knows he'll have to continue to push the limits to add more between now and National Signing Day 2015.
As mentioned a pair of schools from the state of South Carolina have already offered Dubose he informed us. He shared the list of schools who are currently recruiting him too.
"I've got offers from Charleston Southern and South Carolina State. I'm also hearing from The Citadel, Clemson, Wake Forest, Appalachian State, Old Dominion, and of course Charleston Southern and South Carolina State."
Right now he says Charleston Southern, SC State, The Citadel, and Appalachian State are showing him the most interest and pursuing him the hardest. He has a short list of schools that he'd like to see step up their efforts possibly in the near future.
"I'd like to hear more from Clemson, Wake Forest, North Carolina, and NC State."
Dubose says he excels with his blocking ability, route running, catching ability, and coverage when on defense.
"I work on those things a lot. To keep getting better I feel like I need to work on staying focused and working through adversity."
The 2015 Darlington prospect says Reggie Wayne is someone he'd compare his game to and he told us why.
"Yeah it would be Reggie Wayne. He's consistent and smart at the game. You usually don't see him breaking a lot of tackles to score but his team can count on him to get a first down or a touchdown. He doesn't drop balls and he makes big time catches."
Dubose says he's working hard to continue to improve his grades in the classroom and plans on taking the SAT again soon so that more offers could possibly come in soon thereafter. He talked with us about what factors he'll look at closely when it comes time to start making a decision for college.
"Academics, the environment, how soon I can get on the field to play, and how far away from home will be important to me."
The 2015 prospect is a workhorse in the weight room as he called out some of his testing numbers from the weight room which we've got below:
INSIDE THE NUMBERS...TRA'QUAN DUBOSE
Bench press: 270 pounds
Squat: 380 pounds
Power clean: 230 pounds
Fastest 40 time: 4.49
One thing about me that most people would be surprised to know: "People would be surprised at how much time I spend on football and how much hard work I do on and off the field, how humbled I am. When I'm not in weight lifting or at practice I'm on the field working out or on the track running. Another thing is that a lot of people would be surprised to know that I got cut from football in 7th grade."
